Elba Ramos
Elba Ramos was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where the majority of her childhood and young adult life was defined by chaos, instability, sorrow, and anguish. At the young age of 10, Elba experienced the impact of parental divorce where her mother, unable to raise her, deported Elba back to Puerto Rico to live with her grandmother for the next four years. At 14 years old, Elba returned to Brooklyn to live with her mom and finished high school at an all-girls school in Bayridge, NY. After graduation, Elba met and married her husband Ernesto Ramos, a man in the military at the time. Military life provided an opportunity for travel, and during these years Elba's life would begin a rapid and drastic deterioration.
Following the birth of her 2nd child, Elba was introduced to heroin and subsequently fell into drug addiction. Elba reached rock-bottom after being raped at gun point. Staring death in the face, Elba called upon the name of Jesus Christ to save her, and her life would be forever changed for her good and for God’s glory.
Now, Elba lives a completely transformed life unto Christ where God has blessed her and her family. Elba has obtained an A.A. in theology from International School of Ministry, an A.A. in secretarial science from New York Community College, as well as becoming an Ordained Minister of the Gospel in 2008 through National Christian Counselors Association (NCAA). Elba’s life is dedicated to studying the Word of God and bringing glory to the name of Jesus Christ through addiction counseling, teaching and preaching the Word, and loving others. Elba provides leadership with the Focus Group as well as serving in many other capacities with The Father’s Heart Ministries.
